Position Overview:
Avantor Sciences is seeking a motivated Field Sales Specialist to enhance our presence in the Bay Area market.
This position is primarily field-based, necessitating regular in-person sales interactions to support the San Francisco/Bay Area clientele. The Field Sales Specialist will collaborate closely with both sales and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction, drive revenue growth, and achieve long-term account objectives aligned with the company's strategic goals. Key Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree from a college or university is mandatory; a focus in a scientific discipline is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in a complex sales environment is essential.
- Familiarity with a dynamic, collaborative, solution-oriented sales approach.
- A documented history of sales success through a consultative and strategic selling methodology.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with a preference for experience in platforms such as SAP C4C and/or Qlikview.
- Preferred Background:
- A background in Science or Business.
- Sales experience in the Pharmaceutical, BioPharma, or Industrial sectors is advantageous.
- Experience in distribution is a plus.
- Previous or current involvement in laboratory or research settings.
- Willingness to travel within the designated territory.
Responsibilities:
The Field Sales Specialist will be responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation to closing deals, within a designated territory, employing a structured selling methodology. This role will create and execute an Operating Plan aimed at meeting both personal and organizational sales objectives.
- Deliver VWR solutions to clients across the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Industrial, and Academic sectors.
- Manage a diverse customer base across various market segments.
- Identify and establish new client relationships by managing a sales pipeline and presenting tailored proposals that showcase VWR's value.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the entire product range offered by VWR, regardless of market specialization.
- Employ a consultative selling approach to assess customer needs and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Collaborate with sales management to formulate strategic business plans aimed at achieving sales growth and meeting quotas.
- Work alongside the sales management team to develop proposals and implement sales strategies that drive growth.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Oversee VWR's extensive product portfolio and execute defined sales and marketing strategies.
- Enhance VWR's engagement with existing clients by developing retention strategies that align with evolving customer needs.
- Utilize available resources to effectively implement the company's marketing plan and sales processes.
- Foster strong relationships with manufacturers and work directly with local representatives to enhance product knowledge and pricing strategies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
