Job Summary

The Interfaith Works New Leaf Shelter is seeking a skilled and compassionate Program Support Staff to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients, while also providing exceptional customer service and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed care and support to clients, promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor program activities, including medication consumption, meals, and chores, while ensuring proper documentation of daily events.
  • Collaborate with the management team to implement procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with program guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, volunteers, and other service providers, providing clear and concise information.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Perform other duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the program.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of experience in a service delivery field or social services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Proficient in computer programs, including word processing and search engines.
  • Ability to recognize psychiatric or medical emergencies and respond accordingly.
Work Environment

The Interfaith Works New Leaf Shelter is a low-barrier, mixed-gender emergency shelter for adult individuals experiencing homelessness. The program provides shelter, meals, and case management services, with a focus on quickly moving clients to housing and reducing homelessness.

The Program Support Staff will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with clients, volunteers, and other service providers on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, while also maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
