Warehouse Operator I Role Overview
Cox Communications is seeking a skilled Warehouse Operator I to join our team in Omaha, NE. As a key member of our distribution process, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of materials and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) to our boundary partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the distribution of materials and CPE to various boundary partners.
- Utilize the Integrated Communications Operations Management System (ICOMS) billing system application and scanners to assign and receive returns from serialized CPE and other materials.
- Research and resolve CPE returns in improper statuses.
- Use the CHAT Pallet Builder application and scanners to prepare returns for shipment, including sorting, boxing, labeling, shrink-wrapping, and staging of CPE returns.
- Provide pickup, delivery, and loading/unloading of CPE, materials, equipment, and mail by safely operating fleet vehicles.
- Inspect fleet vehicles and equipment for defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips.
- Utilize light warehouse equipment.
- Aid in periodic serialized CPE (ICOMS) cycle counts and annual inventory.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Generally less than 2 years' experience in a related field
- Ability to operate a standard truck/vehicle
- Ability to work effectively with a team
- A valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic warehouse software/systems (Oracle, CHAT Pallet Builder, etc.)
- Forklift certification
- Experience in the telecommunications industry
- One or more years of related work experience (such as experience in warehouse operations)
- Aptitude to learn how to operate warehouse equipment (such as the pallet jack, stretch wrap machine, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Compensation and Benefits:
Cox Communications offers a competitive hourly base pay rate of $15.87 - $23.75/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave, and COVID-19 vaccination leave.
