Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team at Powder River Industries, LLC. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing web-based Java applications to support business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design and develop web-based Java applications using REST/JSON, Spring, SpringBoot, J2EE.
  • Agile Methodologies: Follow approved Agile life cycle methodologies, create design documents, and perform program coding.
  • Technical Support: Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
  • Requirements Gathering: Gather and document technical requirements from stakeholders.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Design and perform unit testing, functional testing, and code reviews.
  • Database Management: Experience with database design, including stored procedures, DML, and DDL tasks.
  • Front-end Development: Experience with application front-end code bases, including HTML, JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS.
  • Project Management Tools: Experience with project management tools, including JIRA and Confluence.

Preferred Skills:

  • Agile Development: Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Project Management Tools: Experience with JIRA and Confluence, or other project/issue tracking software.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, including identifying areas for improvement to processes or applications.
  • Modern JavaScript Frameworks: Experience with modern JavaScript MVC frameworks, such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Performance Tools: Experience with performance tools and hands-on debugging skills on any preferred IDE.
  • Database Management: Experience with Sybase and/or Postgres databases.
  • Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment pipelines.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Public Trust: Must have a Public Trust to start, which can take up to 11 weeks to complete.
  • Location: Must be in the DMV area.
  • Resume Requirements: Must SHOW required skills in their resume.
