The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least one year of recent work experience handling cash or processing payments, preferably in a back office financial services environment. Basic math skills and proficiency with data entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are also required.

The Check Processor will be responsible for processing received mortgage payments daily and accurately, as well as responding to requests for information and updating systems. This role requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Opening and sorting bulk mail and distributing or processing as required
  • Processing batch loan payments the day they are received
  • Forwarding released items to new servicers
  • Entering payments in the system accurately
  • Processing and responding to servicing requests
  • Disbursing checks from clearing and exchange accounts
  • Setting up and entering changes to ACH data
  • Processing all electronic batches
  • Updating the system with required information
