Position Overview

This role involves executing fundamental accounting tasks to ensure a comprehensive and precise general ledger along with financial statements. The position also entails providing basic analytical support and reporting as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilizes accounting methodologies and standard practices for the categorization and documentation of financial transactions.
  • Records, balances, and reconciles various investment asset accounts.
  • Ensures accuracy in custody bank activities through reconciliation.
  • Conducts transaction analyses, identifies data discrepancies or irregularities, and prepares reports for evaluation.
  • May offer accounting assistance and administration for particular investment categories, including derivatives, mortgage loans, and limited partnerships.
  • Handles daily collateral processing tasks.
Additional Responsibilities
  • May participate in special projects as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Engages in various duties and/or projects as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Fundamental understanding of GAAP accounting principles and procedures (knowledge of IFRS and Statutory accounting is a plus).
  • Capacity to learn and comprehend Jackson products and systems.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including MS Word, Access, Excel, and other departmental software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
