Job Summary

The Regional Transportation Manager is a key member of the Global Transportation Team, responsible for managing and leading North America (AME) transportation operations to meet targeted service levels, cost savings, and capabilities deployment.

This role involves proactive transportation management, both operationally and strategically, with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of all modes of transportation services, mitigate risks, and achieve optimal freight cost efficiency and customer commitments.

As a key coordinator, you will drive operations stability and continuous improvements initiatives, including projects evaluation, recommendation, deployment, and management of regional transportation programs with external service partners, internal logistics, and other functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead regional transportation cost and service performance for AME international and domestic transportation, including USA, Mexico, and Canada local and cross-border transportations.
  2. Continuously improve delivery performance to meet agreed service levels with Divisions to support CRD/MPD improvement or plant delivery requirements.
  3. Monitor lane transit lead time performance and drive initiatives to support transportation planning and forecasting.
  4. Track and monitor regional transportation spend, identify deviations, and drive corrective actions.
  5. Lead and participate in regional and global RFQs strategy, bid evaluation, and implementation. Build internal routing guides.
  6. Ensure sites' service requirements are fully met and achieve best-in-class results.
  7. Manage local and international forwarders' transportation performance.
  8. Support and resolve service issues, including carrier capacity sourcing with forwarders.
  9. Support Division/Plant in equipment transfer and deliver equipment as per requirements.
  10. Develop processes that enable zero quality defects, share containment, and planned corrective actions.
  11. Drive continuous productivity improvements to improve cost and service quality in the region with internal and external partners, identify network optimization opportunities.
  12. Monitor market risk factors to identify potential risk impacts on service and proactively mitigate issues.
  13. Responsible for transportation data quality for the region, including resolution of master data and reporting errors.
  14. Subject matter expertise in International Freight Forwarding and international trade operations.
  15. Engage with Divisions to be part of S&OPE and understand footprint changes, mode mix changes, and future BU development plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Business preferred; candidates with other degree specializations plus strong relevant industry experience will be considered.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in supply chain, regional, and global transportation, logistics operations.
  • Working knowledge of Americas international transportation, air, ocean, and other modes of transportation, as well as regional regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in managing cross-border logistics and customs processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including internationally.
