Position Overview

The Child Abuse Resource and Education (CARE) Program at Dell Children's Medical Center is actively seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Child Abuse Pediatrician. This role is integral to our multi-disciplinary team, which comprises various healthcare professionals dedicated to addressing child abuse and neglect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Evaluations: Conduct thorough medical assessments in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring comprehensive care for children suspected of experiencing abuse or neglect.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a diverse team, including advanced practice providers and social workers, to deliver holistic care and support.
  • Education: Provide training and guidance to medical students, residents, and fellows, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  • Community Engagement: Actively participate in local multidisciplinary teams to enhance community resources and support for affected families.
  • Legal Responsibilities: Offer expert testimony in court when necessary, advocating for the welfare of children.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with eligibility for Texas medical licensure.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
  • Exceptional clinical skills and a commitment to collaborative practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred:

  • Completion of a three-year ACGME accredited fellowship in child abuse pediatrics.
