About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team of dedicated caregivers. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care to our community.

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will work alongside caregivers from different departments, including anesthesia, intensive care, and pulmonology. Your primary duties will include:

  • Assessing patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and developing a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Directing respiratory staff for delivery of care and implementing and monitoring patient care plans.
  • Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate.
  • Performing advanced respiratory care modalities and evaluating respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
  • Educating patients and families about the illness and providing information about community support groups and other available programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided for validation.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire date, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days post hire date, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA), Neonatal Resuscitation when appropriate for site.

Physical Requirements

  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
  • May require sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
