Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to work with our clients in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assessing patient needs, and developing effective treatment plans.
Responsibilities:- Confirms physician orders, assesses for appropriateness, and ensures quality patient care.
- Notifies physician, nurse, and/or other hospital staff of any unusual reactions observed in patients during performance of duties.
- Assesses, evaluates, documents in medical record, and monitors patient for tolerance and response to therapy and treatment.
- Explains treatment procedures to patients and addresses any concerns or questions.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Promotes customer satisfaction through positive behaviors when interacting with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
- Performs respiratory/pulmonary procedures per department policy or protocol.
- Responds to emergencies and participates in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Sets up and maintains all equipment, administers medical gases, medications, assists with stocking of supplies and drugs.
- Completes appropriate billing information for completed services.
- Participates in patient care teams and quality improvement programs to achieve the organization's mission and purpose.
- Provides input into policies and procedures development to positively impact outcomes and delivery cost.
- Participates in educational activities presented to patients, families, students, other healthcare professionals, and the community.
- Attends in-services, meetings, and conferences to keep current on new techniques, equipment, and procedures.
- Maintains proficiency in Respiratory Care skills as required by regulatory agencies.
- We prefer Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), but have accepted Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for assignments as long as they are "Registry Eligible" and have appropriate experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days.
- Experience with Primary devices: PB 980 (ventilator), PB 840 (ventilator), V60 (noninvasive ventilator), Epoc (handheld analyzer), and ParaPacPlus (transport ventilator).
