Respiratory Therapist Job Description

A-Line Staffing Solutions is now hiring a Respiratory Therapist for a contract assignment in Akron, Ohio.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to work with a Fortune 500 company. The ideal candidate will have experience with primary devices, including the PB 980, PB 840, V60, Epoc, and ParaPacPlus.

Responsibilities
  • Confirms physician orders, assesses for appropriateness, and ensures quality patient care.
  • Notifies physician, nurse, and/or other hospital staff of any unusual reaction observed in patients during performance of duties.
  • Assesses, evaluates, documents in medical record, and monitors patient for tolerance and response to therapy and treatment.
  • Explains treatment procedures to patient and addresses any concerns or questions.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
  • Promotes customer satisfaction through positive behaviors when interacting with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Performs respiratory/pulmonary procedures per department policy or protocol.
  • Responds to emergencies and participates in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Sets up and maintains all equipment, administers medical gases, medications, assists with stocking of supplies and drugs.
  • Completes appropriate billing information for completed services.
  • Participates in patient care teams and quality improvement programs to achieve the organization's mission and purpose.
  • Provides input into policies and procedures development to positively impact outcomes and delivery cost.
  • Participates in educational activities presented to patients, families, students, other health care professionals, and the community.
  • Attends in-services, meetings, and conferences to keep current on new techniques, equipment, and procedures.
  • Maintains proficiency in Respiratory Care skills as required by regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with registry eligibility and appropriate experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with primary devices: PB 980, PB 840, V60, Epoc, and ParaPacPlus.
