HVAC TECHNICIAN - LEVEL 4/5

OVERVIEW:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC support systems, including air handlers, chilled water systems, condenser pumps, cooling towers, valves, and filters.
  • Implement and manage a preventative maintenance schedule for HVAC systems associated with launch operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and management to ensure systems operate at optimal efficiency.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and SpaceX procedures, including quality and safety standards set by OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, NFPA, ASME, and NEC.
  • Execute ductwork modifications and perform various repairs as needed.
  • Conduct brazing, soldering, evacuation, and charging of refrigerants.
  • Carry out modifications and repairs on water piping and insulation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in HVAC, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree or certification in HVAC technology from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient knowledge in HVAC, electrical safety, pneumatic principles, and mechanical systems.
  • Universal certification from the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI).
  • Familiarity with high-pressure gas, flammable gas, and refrigeration gases.
  • Experience with high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters and air handling unit (AHU) filtration systems.
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration theory, motors, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and organized work environment while following company policies and industry standards.
  • Capability to interpret schematic diagrams and architectural plans.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Availability to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring standing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in environments with exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing roles and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

HVAC Technician/Level 4: $33.00/hour

HVAC Technician/Level 5: $48.00/hour

Your specific level and salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

In addition to base salary, you may be eligible for long-term incentives, including company stock options, discretionary bonuses, and participation in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks are also part of your total rewards package. You will accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays each year.
