About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Systems HVAC Specialist to join our team at Encova Insurance. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our critical environments, including data centers and other mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and insulation.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and control systems and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain UPS systems, generators, automatic transfer switches, switchgear, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Supervise external vendors to ensure compliance with regulations and operational procedures.
  • Review and update complex mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Perform daily inspections of critical infrastructure and report any issues or concerns to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operation of facilities and critical systems.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair in a data center or critical environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft-based programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Trade certification or state license in electrical or mechanical (HVAC) preferred.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems, critical facilities operations, and mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and be a self-starter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with high-rise chillers, water pumps, and cooling towers.
  • Knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex electronic control system malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory, including Ohm's Law, AC power, and grounding.
