Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at ProCare Therapy. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement personalized education plans that cater to the unique needs of students with special needs.
  • Provide Direct Instruction and Support: Offer one-on-one instruction and support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and self-contained classrooms.
  • Utilize Effective Teaching Strategies: Employ a range of teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with autism and other behavioral disorders.
  • Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess students' abilities and progress through formal and informal evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Educational Staff: Work closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success.
  • Adapt Curriculum: Modify curriculum to accommodate the unique learning styles and needs of students.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep up-to-date records of student progress, IEP goals, and services provided.
  • Participate in School-Based Meetings: Attend IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-based meetings.
  • Provide Behavior Management Support: Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed to support students with challenging behaviors.
  • Stay Current with Best Practices: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Certification/Licensure: State certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher in Wyoming.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with special needs.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
