Job Overview:
Shift: Available Monday to Friday (7am - 7pm), with potential Saturday rotation.

Essential Experience: OB/GYN experience is required.
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomy Specialist is dedicated to serving patients by preparing specimens for laboratory analysis and adhering to screening standards. This role involves drawing high-quality blood samples while fostering an environment of trust and reassurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, and maintain accurate records.
- Welcome patients with professionalism and courtesy.
- Collect specimens in accordance with established protocols, clearly explaining the venipuncture process to patients.
- Alleviate patient anxiety by providing a calm and supportive atmosphere during the collection process.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using both straight and butterfly needles.
Additional Duties:
- Thoroughly understand all physician orders.
- Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes, ensuring accurate labeling and processing.
- Package specimens appropriately for transport.
- Store samples at required temperatures and ensure proper labeling.
- Exhibit expertise in collection methods and processing of specimens.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Participate in annual training sessions.
- Respond to telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Phlebotomy certification.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in performing venipunctures in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital environment.
- Reliable transportation with at least 4 years of licensed driving experience and a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional patient interaction skills, both in-person and over the phone.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
