POSITION:
Electrical Systems Integration Engineer

II

ROLE SUMMARY:

As a key member of a dedicated and skilled team, you will play a vital role in supporting and advocating for the Electrical Harness Design team on our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration floor.

This hands-on role will immerse you in various facets of engineering, design, fabrication, installation, and testing.

Your contributions will significantly influence the future of space exploration, demanding your unwavering commitment and meticulous attention to detail to ensure safe and repeatable spaceflight.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Address all design-related inquiries from our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.
  • Assist in selecting avionics components and hardware, including connectors, backshells, cables, wires, fasteners, and bonding materials.
  • Generate Non-Conformance (NC) items within our internal system.
  • Assist in the formulation of Non-Conformance (NC) dispositions.
  • Create and update redline drawings for 2D electrical harness schematics, 3D electrical harness installation diagrams, and hardware installation layouts.
  • Release redline drawings in Windchill.
  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing rate, productivity, and efficiency on our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.
  • Identify and support necessary updates in design engineering to facilitate automation during Avionics Installation.
  • Contribute to process updates and enhancements based on feedback from our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.
  • Provide technical expertise for Avionics Installation.
  • Assist in the assembly and testing of cables, harnesses, Avionics LRUs, and Avionics hardware.
  • Report on activity schedules and technical progress.
  • Identify opportunities for technical enhancements.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing Avionics/Electrical Harnesses within the Aerospace sector.
  • At least 3 years of experience in supporting the manufacturing or installation of Wire Harnesses or Avionics LRUs in the Aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with harness fabrication and installation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Avionics LRUs fabrication and installation processes.
  • Experience with Avionics Hardware fabrication and installation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Creo, Windchill, and Routed System Designer (RSD).
  • Understanding of wire derating analysis principles.
  • Familiarity with relevant harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical design integration skills utilizing 3-D CAD software.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620A Certification.
  • Experience with Pro/E Piping.
  • Familiarity with other advanced CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems in launch vehicles or spacecraft.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma principles.
  • Six Sigma Green/Black belt certification.
