Lead Quality Assurance Auditor

Position Overview: The Senior Auditor - Quality Assurance plays a crucial role in executing quality assurance evaluations aligned with the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) and the Internal Audit Methodology. This position is essential for providing constructive feedback to audit teams regarding their adherence to established methodologies, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee quality assurance reviews (QAR) to guarantee the completion of the QAIP plan. Engage in discussions with audit teams to present findings and compile a comprehensive summary report for the Audit Practices Group (APG) Director and Chief Audit Executive.
- Collaborate with the APG Director to share QAR outcomes and best practices during team meetings.
- Facilitate targeted training sessions and manage special projects as required.
- Ensure adherence to relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Complete all mandatory compliance training and maintain an understanding of Flagstar's internal compliance policies. Stay informed about evolving regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of audit experience, preferably within the financial services sector or other highly regulated industries.
- Preferred certifications include CIA, CPA, CISA, CRMA, CRCM, or CFE.
- Experience in a senior role on an audit team or in professional practices is advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of internal audit processes and best practices.
- Strong analytical and technical abilities, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, TeamMate, and various data analysis tools.
- Exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to provide constructive challenges.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Proficient in collaborating with various management levels.
- Capability to lead special projects with limited supervision.
- Minimal travel requirements, approximately 10%.
- Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
