Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The Special Assets Data & Analytics Officer is responsible for the development, production, and ongoing enhancement of data and analytics for the Special Assets team. Works with Head of Special Assets on with day-to-day management of Classified C&I and commercial real estate/multifamily loans. Collaborates/works with Team Leads and Special Assets Officers/Analysts while supporting efforts to preserve principal and prevent charge-offs. Maintains compliance with policy, procedure and lending regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the ongoing development and continuous improvement of data and analytics systems and tools utilized by the Special Assets team.
  • Prepare complex business-related analyses and research related to Special Assets area.
  • Manage and manipulate large amounts of data to identify trends and drive business decisions.
  • Assist Special Assets team by providing high level support including responding to ad hoc data requests managing various objectives and projects.
  • Act as a key resource and is able to multi-task while working independently.
  • Create and deliver high quality meeting decks, agendas and reports to/for Sr. Management.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings, handling logistics while providing necessary materials.
  • Perform portfolio analysis for Sr. Management team, regulators, auditors, etc.
  • Organize and coordinate portfolio reviews.
  • Act as a liaison between the Special Assets team and Regulatory Affairs, Internal Audit, Compliance, Enterprise Risk, legal, etc.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert while being the main point of contact for internal/external stakeholders when needed.
  • Keep informed of key industry and regulatory developments.
  • Track high-priority issues/initiatives while forecasting any potential obstacles.
  • Responsible for reviewing and modifying internal departmental procedures as necessary.
  • Assist with overseeing daily operations and works closely with the Head of Special Assets to execute on various business needs.

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: College, Vocational or Associates Degree (2 years or equivalent) Business Administration, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum experience required: 5+ Years within the Loan Workout/Special Assets field with a focus on data and analytics, preferably at an OCC regulated institution.
  • Familiarity with various loan databases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education level preferred: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

Job Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of and ability to interpret real estate documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of real estate policies, procedures and related lending laws.
  • Computer literate with advanced proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of analytical and reporting tools.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask.
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
