Electrical Systems Specialist

Temple University's Facilities Department is seeking an experienced Electrician II to maintain and repair all University electrical systems and controls up to and including 13,200 volts.
The successful candidate will troubleshoot problems, respond to routine and emergency calls, and work with medium voltage systems and switchgear.
Additionally, the Electrician II will perform complete operational and serviceability checks to ensure safe, efficient, and economical operation of all areas of facilities.
The ideal candidate will have proven troubleshooting experience with Motor Control Centers, VFDs, Building Automation Systems, and basic building wiring systems.
A solid knowledge of safe working practices and the National Electrical Code is also required.
The Electrician II will work closely with the Electrical Supervisor to ensure that all electrical systems are functioning properly and efficiently.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Ability to diagnose and analyze electrical systems
- Knowledge of National Electrical codes and industry standards
- Experience working with medium voltage systems and switchgear
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an institution with similar electrical systems
- Knowledge of electrical switchgear, variable frequency drives, PLCs, and BAS systems
