Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Assist patients with dialysis treatments, including setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, monitoring vital signs, and providing education on dialysis procedures.
- Staff Support: Assist in training new staff members on dialysis procedures and provide guidance on patient care.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information, treatment data, and laboratory results.
- Infection Control: Follow infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Transitional Care Unit: Assist in coordinating patient care in the transitional care unit, including setting up and performing treatments on dialysis machines.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- License/Certification: Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements.
- Experience: Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
