*The salary range provided is an estimate based on current market conditions. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and merit increases. Role Responsibilities

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for ensuring safety, quality, and productivity across all machinery and facilities, alongside the execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program.

  • Lead and guide the Maintenance Team in daily operations, fostering high performance through effective goal setting and performance evaluation
  • Accurately identify failed or worn components and utilize available resources for replacements
  • Efficiently coordinate, plan, and implement the Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Oversee all facility-related equipment and systems, including electric utilities, air compressors, and boilers
  • Prioritize and complete assigned maintenance tasks while delegating responsibilities to team members
  • Ensure maintenance staff adhere to safe work practices and procedures consistently
  • Monitor and manage maintenance operating costs
  • Review repairs for quality and workmanship
  • Enhance existing equipment to boost efficiency or reduce costs
  • Coordinate external contractor work from bidding to execution
  • Collaborate with external machine shops for part fabrication
  • Manage plant projects, including design, development, overhauls, and relocations
  • Work with production managers on machine modifications to enhance productivity
  • Assist in implementing and enforcing safety programs
  • Participate in accident investigations and address environmental concerns
  • Develop and implement machine guarding systems
  • Conduct required annual training for plant personnel (lockout/tagout, confined space, fire safety, Hazmat, etc.)
  • Act as a liaison for state or federal inspectors, local fire departments, and insurance inspections
  • Maintain regular communication with employees across various departments and external contractors, regulatory agencies, and utility companies as needed
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in plant maintenance is essential
  • Proven supervisory experience and drafting skills are necessary
  • Strong knowledge of machinery, manufacturing equipment, and building maintenance is required
  • Familiarity with printing and paper converting machinery, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication is preferred
  • Ability to calculate gear ratios, pitch, etc., and operate all machine shop equipment (welders, grinders, lathes, cutting tools, etc.)
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and 5S methodologies
  • Proficient in MS applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong diagnostic skills for electrical component failures and solutions
  • Basic knowledge of PLC and VFD systems is beneficial
  • Expertise in LOTO systems is required
