Position Overview

Under the supervision of a designated manager, this role involves cleaning and maintaining various facilities, including restrooms, classrooms, offices, cafeterias, and libraries. Responsibilities also include performing general maintenance tasks, making minor repairs, and ensuring the security of buildings and facilities.

Most permanent roles in this classification require an eight (8) hour workday, five (5) days a week, throughout the year.

Newly hired personnel in this classification are typically assigned evening shifts. An eligibility list is being created to address current openings, hire substitutes, and fill future vacancies.

*Some positions may necessitate a valid California Driver License, with selective certification applicable (Education Code).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of a designated supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining various facilities, including restrooms, classrooms, offices, cafeterias, and libraries. Additional duties include general grounds maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, and securing buildings and facilities.


EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA

EDUCATION:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
Prior custodial experience and/or training is highly desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees in this role must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs. (up to 100 lbs. with assistance); climb ladders and stairs; maintain balance; stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend repeatedly; use fingers, wrists, and hands while twisting or applying pressure; simultaneously utilize both arms, legs, and hands; reach overhead; possess rapid muscular coordination; hear normal voice conversations; speak clearly; operate a motor vehicle; and use a computer, telephone, and radio.

LICENSE/LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

A valid Class C California Driver License and access to a private vehicle may be required for certain positions in this classification and must be maintained throughout employment.
