Position Overview:

The Energy Operations and Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for managing all daily functions and maintenance tasks at the Walnut Creek Energy Park. This role encompasses overseeing operations, maintenance activities, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the Walnut Creek Energy Plant, ensuring effective coordination with energy traders, timely outage notifications, monitoring unit performance, and maintaining safe operation of plant machinery.
  • Evaluate production output, efficiency, and other key metrics to enhance operational practices and procedures.
  • Track and enhance maintenance performance metrics.
  • Formulate, secure approval for, and manage an operations and maintenance budget that aligns with ownership goals.
  • Engage in corporate safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Prepare regular and special reports detailing maintenance activities, cost analyses, and equipment reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience/training.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in power plant operations or maintenance.
  • Practical experience with gas turbines, generators, electronic controls, and monitoring systems.
  • Proven managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods, lift objects, and possess a valid driver's license.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of gas technologies complemented by an engineering background. Familiarity with environmental health and safety regulations, environmental controls, and capital projects is advantageous.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily office-based but may require occasional visits to the plant or outdoor settings. These environments may expose you to various elements, including rotating machinery, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and high voltage electrical equipment.
