Position Overview

Under the supervision of a designated manager, this role involves the cleaning and upkeep of facilities, including restrooms, classrooms, offices, cafeterias, and libraries. Responsibilities also include general maintenance of grounds and buildings, performing minor repairs, and ensuring the security of facilities.

Most permanent roles in this classification require an eight (8) hour workday, five (5) days a week, throughout the year.

Newly hired personnel are typically assigned evening shifts. An eligibility list is being created to address current openings, hire substitutes, and fill future vacancies.

*Some positions may necessitate a valid California Driver License, with selective certification applicable (Education Code)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of a designated supervisor, this position entails the cleaning and maintenance of various facilities, including restrooms, classrooms, offices, cafeterias, and libraries. Additional duties include general grounds maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, and securing buildings and facilities.


EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA

EDUCATION:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
Prior custodial experience and/or training is highly valued.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Individuals in this role must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs. (up to 100 lbs. with assistance); climb ladders and stairs; maintain balance; stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend frequently; repetitively use fingers, wrists, and hands while applying pressure; coordinate both arms, legs, and hands simultaneously; reach overhead; possess rapid muscular coordination; hear normal voice conversations; speak clearly; operate an electric/motor vehicle; and utilize a computer, telephone, and radio.

LICENSE/LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

A valid Class C California Driver License and access to a private vehicle may be required for certain positions and must be maintained throughout employment.
