Job Overview

Position Summary: The Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality cable television and internet services. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the installation of cable television and internet services in accordance with Avance Consulting standards and customer requirements.
  • Set up necessary equipment, such as cable boxes, modems, and routers, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Guarantee proper cable routing and connections to achieve the best signal strength and reliability.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on existing cable systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to cable services, including signal loss and equipment failures.
  • Repair or replace damaged cables, connectors, amplifiers, and other essential components as required.
  • Engage with customers professionally, addressing inquiries, concerns, and service requests effectively.
  • Provide guidance to customers on the effective use of their cable services and assist with common troubleshooting.
  • Strive for customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Accurately document all installation, maintenance, and repair activities using Avance Consulting's designated systems.
  • Prepare detailed reports on service calls, outlining the nature of the issue, actions taken, and resolution status.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate work schedules and share pertinent information.
  • Adhere to industry regulations and Avance Consulting policies regarding cable installation, maintenance, and safety standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and techniques in the cable industry through continuous training and professional development.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment while performing field duties.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in cable installation, telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cable systems, networking principles, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools for installation and repair tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and during evenings or weekends as necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
