Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Counselor will work independently in an evaluation or treatment setting, collaborating with patients and their support systems to evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric and substance use disorders. This position requires a strong understanding of current mental health theories, practices, and evidence-based approaches.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide specialized psychotherapy services, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • 2+ years of experience in a behavioral health treatment setting
  • Strong understanding of mental health theories, practices, and evidence-based approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults
  • Knowledge of cultural competence and trauma-informed care
  • Experience with electronic health records and other software systems
