Wild Equine and Burro Program Coordinator

Agency Clarification
This position is open to all U.S. Citizens; prior Federal Service is not a prerequisite. Candidates from CTAP and ICTAP within the local commuting area are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee critical components of the Wild Horse and Burro Program, ensuring adherence to the objectives, standards, and policies set forth by the Department, Bureau, State, and District Office while achieving programmatic goals.
- Collaborate with state and local veterinarians to address and resolve health concerns related to livestock.
- Act as a subject matter expert in the management and control of wild horse and burro populations, including estimation and the establishment of management targets.
- Investigate animal care grievances, provide recommendations, and perform compliance evaluations.
- Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with volunteers, user groups, government representatives, professional organizations, animal rights advocates, humane societies, and animal control entities.
Employment Conditions
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
