**Job Summary:**

The Diesel Mechanic-Electrician is responsible for performing maintenance and electrical tasks on heavy and light-duty equipment used in coal mining operations. The role requires troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various types of mining and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planner, and Shop Foreman to execute maintenance and electrical tasks, including troubleshooting low-voltage systems, replacing faulty components, and conducting preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all tasks meet federal and state regulatory standards to optimize equipment reliability, safety, cost-effectiveness, productivity, and environmental sustainability.
  • Interpret and work from maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, and electrical schematics.
  • Utilize low-voltage electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to repair surface mining equipment effectively.

**Preferred Education & Experience:**

A minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance and electrical work within mining operations, with a focus on mechanical systems. MSHA Electrical Certification and knowledge of MSHA diesel regulatory requirements. Flexibility to work various shifts as dictated by operational needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

**Essential Functions:**

  • Regularly required to reach, handle, and operate objects, tools, or controls using hands, arms, legs, and feet.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders or steps.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds for short distances.
  • Effective verbal communication and hearing abilities are required.
  • Must possess strong visual abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to maintain focus and concentration in a fast-paced environment.
