Job Title: ITS Fiber Optic Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled ITS Fiber Optic Technician to join our team at Eland Engineering, a GAI Consultants company. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including installing and maintaining fiber optic systems, electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber optic systems and/or ITS field devices such as DMS, CCTV, MVDS, RSU, Traffic Signal Controllers, and power systems.

Responsibilities:

• Installs equipment including cameras, detectors, and controller cabinets.
• Installs electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable.
• Installs pull boxes, conduits, poles, and foundations.
• Connects conductors to equipment to make equipment work correctly.
• Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment.
• Test devices to ensure they work correctly.
• Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation activities.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma (required)
• 2-10 years of experience with fiber optic cable installation and splicing (required)
• 2-10 years of experience in maintaining ITS field devices such as DMS, CCTV, MVDS, RSU, Traffic Signal Controllers, and power systems (required)
• 2-10 years of electronics repair and maintenance (required)
• Basic computer and networking skills (required)
• Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing and Troubleshooting (preferred)
• IMSA Certified (preferred)
• MOT Certification (preferred)
• Driver's License (required)
