Human Resources Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Administrator to join our team at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources & Labor Relations function, coordinating HR best practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes safety, quality, productivity, goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Key Responsibilities- Assist employees with benefit questions or requirements.
- Serve as the liaison for employees for questions relating to benefits and payroll, working with corporate departments to resolve issues and communicate to employees.
- Collect and analyze data for the company's affirmative action plan.
- Complete monthly level two KPI/reports.
- Process Exit Interview forms, notify personnel of terminations, and provide benefits information to terminated employees.
- Handle requests for verifications of employment, benefits, unemployment insurance, and other employment information.
- Assist with maintaining files, forms, and database information associated with personnel, benefits, attendance, general information, and recruiting.
- Perform recalls and layoffs of production employees, including required paperwork.
- Audit Company-owned personnel files and employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.
- Coordinate employee relations issues with the Manager, HR Administration to affect prompt and appropriate resolution.
- Maintain plan and office bulletin boards in an up-to-date and legal compliance manner.
- Perform related duties in support of the human resources function, in a primary or backup capacity.
- Provide assistance for training programs and update training records on a recurring basis.
- Maintain a commitment to and promote the Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety Policies.
- Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in HR or a related field.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Industry experience beneficial, but not necessary.
- Experience in ADP/SAP is beneficial.
- Knowledge of HR Policy and Procedure.
- Knowledge of Employment Law (EEO, ADA, AA, FMLA, etc.).
- Knowledge of Compensation practices.
- Knowledge of Labor Union Relations.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to be self-directed.
