OBJECTIVE
Under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and Leads, the Equipment Maintenance Specialist I is an entry-level role responsible for executing machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services with basic proficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures the functionality of machinery and mechanical equipment by fulfilling preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery; adhering to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; diagnosing malfunctions.
Identifies the sources of issues by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for irregularities; utilizing precision measuring and testing instruments.
Dismantles devices to remove defective parts; employing hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; inspecting the form and texture of components.
Adjusts functional components of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Minimizes downtime by informing production personnel of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring adherence.
Fabricates repair components using machine shop tools and equipment.
Maintains inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies by reviewing stock levels; anticipating necessary equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; confirming receipt.
Provides mechanical maintenance insights by addressing inquiries and requests.
Compiles mechanical maintenance reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Enhances technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops; reviewing technical literature; establishing personal networks.
Ensures continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contributes to team success by achieving related results as necessary.
Performs repairs for building, lighting, and plumbing as required.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
