Employment Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Employment Specialist to join our team at Accord. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping individuals with disabilities achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized employment supports to help individuals explore, develop, and maintain competitive employment opportunities.
  • Engage in communication with support teams, planning, and represent Accord to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Attend meetings, advocate for the individuals you serve, and provide them with training and support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, community partners, and other stakeholders to promote employment opportunities.
  • Write reports and maintain licensing requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as time management skills.
  • Hold a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and a vehicle to transport individuals as needed.
  • Pass a Department of Human Services background study.
  • Meet one of the qualifications outlined by Minnesota statute Chapter 245 D section 8, including a four-year bachelor's degree in a field related to human services and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older.
Work Environment:

Typical work days are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, with some evenings or weekends for support as needed. 40 hour work week. Mostly in the community with people we support. A supportive and interactive work team.
