Position Overview

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Specialist is responsible for executing essential environmental assessments, analyses, and observations. This role involves evaluating findings and providing recommendations to ensure adherence to environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Environmental Manager in maintaining compliance and regulatory documentation for various environmental programs and standards.
  • Engage independently with environmental inspectors and senior management, as directed by the Environmental Manager, including managing follow-up actions from compliance evaluations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify, assess, and compile reports using principles of mathematics and physical sciences.
  • Conduct inspections and enforce compliance initiatives across multiple sites independently.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and regulations.
  • Utilize appropriate safety gear while on site.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in environmental science or a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Bachelor of Science in a related area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 2-4 years of experience in the environmental sector; 5 years preferred.

Work Environment

  • Standard office setting.
  • Industrial plant environment.
  • Some travel may be necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to navigate stairs.
