ICR Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious General Laborer to join our team. As an MSHA-certified individual, you will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and safety at our clients' facilities. Your primary responsibilities will involve physical clean-up duties, including debris removal, waste disposal, and cleaning of work areas and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform physical labor duties, including but not limited to debris removal, waste disposal, and cleaning of work areas and equipment.
2. Safely and efficiently shovel, sweep, use of a wheelbarrow or bucket-carry debris from the work area.
3. Must be able to stand for long periods, walk long distances, walk/climb inclines, stairs and ladders, cross catwalks and gangways, work from elevated surfaces (i.e., scaffolding, towers), work in an extreme range of weather conditions (winter: 32° and below, summer: 100° and above / Hot / Arid (dry) / Wet / Windy), dirty/dusty environment.
4. Heavy lifting: Safely and correctly perform single-person lifts of up to 75 lbs. and participate in team lifts exceeding 100 lbs., utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment.
5. Familiarity of Air Pneumatic hand tools, Jack Hammer, Chipping Hammer, Rivet Buster and the like.
6. Working at heights: Carry out clean-up duties at elevated heights, up to several stories, while adhering to all fall-protection guidelines and equipment requirements.
7. Confined space work: Successfully complete clean-up tasks within confined spaces, following confined space entry protocols and utilizing appropriate safety equipment.
8. Fall-protection equipment: Don, inspect, and wear fall-protection equipment, such as harnesses, lanyards, and anchor points, in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
9. Respiratory equipment: Successfully complete medical certification for the use of respiratory equipment and effectively wear and use respiratory protection when required.
10. Waste disposal: Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste materials and debris in accordance with established procedures, ensuring compliance with MSHA, CalOSHA and environmental regulations.
11. Hazard identification: Identify potential safety hazards and promptly report them to supervisors or appropriate personnel, taking necessary corrective actions when possible.
12. Equipment maintenance: Assist in the routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and machinery used during clean-up operations.
13. Team collaboration: Work cooperatively with other team members to ensure efficient clean-up operations, promoting a culture of safety and teamwork.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. MSHA certification is mandatory. (Qualified applicants must become MSHA certified before they will be eligible for work assignment consideration. For qualified applicants training will be provided.)
2. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
3. Prior experience in general labor or clean-up roles, particularly within mining or industrial environments, is beneficial.
4. Must possess and be able to demonstrate the physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks, over the course of 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shifts including single-person lifts of up to 75 lbs. and team lifts exceeding 100 lbs.
5. Comfort working at heights of several stories and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
6. Competence in donning, inspecting, and utilizing fall-protection equipment, demonstrating a commitment to personal safety and protection.
7. Ability to obtain medical certification for the use of respiratory equipment and wear respiratory protection as required.
8. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to following safety protocols and regulations.
9. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
10. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required. Mandatory overtime will be required based on project and client needs.
11. Self Starter, Team Oriented, but also be able to work Independently when/if needed.
