Position Overview:
Provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care by delivering patient-focused clinical services, medication guidance, education, and the preparation and distribution of medications to ensure safe, effective, and economical medication therapy.
Utilizes sound clinical judgment and developed skills to contribute to and execute the patient's care plan based on their diagnosis in a timely manner.
Builds trust and collaboration with patients, their families/support systems, and other healthcare professionals through proficient patient evaluations, diligent monitoring, and clear communication.
Adheres to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to maintain privacy and safety while providing optimal patient care. May also be tasked with specific responsibilities and/or training other staff within the department.Job Description:

Doctorate:
Completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy program from an accredited institution.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
PHARMD-Licensed Pharmacist
OR PHARMR-Registered Pharmacist
ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (for those involved in emergency response)
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1 year of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Familiarity with medical terminology, generic and brand pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations, and relevant laws and regulations.
Understanding of various pharmacy practice environments, including narcotic management and procedures.
Ability to recognize and utilize pharmaceutical and medical terminology, abbreviations, and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, and documenting medications.
Requires a foundational understanding of legal obligations and accreditation standards, including those set by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
Demonstrates well-developed time management and organizational abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks and operate within established procedures and scientific methods to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
General proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), relevant pharmaceutical technology, EHR, and EPIC.
Works independently as well as collaboratively within a team, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Identifies, assesses, and resolves standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
Ensures the confidentiality of each patient's protected health information (PHI).

This position may involve regular handling, storage, preparation, receipt, unpacking, transportation, disposal, or administration of drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in accordance with USP 800.
