Job Summary

The Assistant Retail Store Manager is a key member of our retail team, responsible for leading the store's operations and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide their team to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the store, including managing inventory, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback to ensure team members are meeting their goals and objectives.
  • Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing a positive shopping experience.
  • Sales and Merchandising: Analyze sales data, identify trends, and develop strategies to increase sales and drive business growth.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, monitor stock, and ensure accurate ordering and receiving procedures.
  • Loss Prevention: Implement and maintain loss prevention measures, including monitoring store security and investigating any incidents.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and management, ensuring clear and concise communication.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience: One year of retail management experience or equivalent experience with Blick Art Materials.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to analyze sales data and develop strategies to drive business growth, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders.
