Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic Co-op to join our team at The H&K Group, Inc. As a co-op student, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, working alongside our experienced technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and vehicles
  • Assist in the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of various equipment and vehicles
  • Read job orders and observe equipment in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures
  • Collaborate with shop foremen to receive direction and guidance on daily tasks
Requirements
  • Enrollment in an accredited technical high school or technical high school program in auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, or a related field
  • Basic math and communication skills
  • Able and willing to work an abbreviated 2nd shift schedule
  • Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year completed study in the related technical field
  • Previous co-op or internship experience
