Position Title: Assistant Professor in Environmental Geosciences

Department Overview: The Department of Earth and Environmental Geosciences at Trinity University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position. We aim to enhance our current departmental expertise with a focus on environmental research across various settings, including terrestrial, critical zone, hydrological, or marine environments, as well as broader earth systems interactions.

Research and Teaching Expectations: Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in utilizing geophysics, remote sensing, GIS, coding, or other quantitative methodologies in both research and teaching. A strong commitment to undergraduate education is essential, as the successful candidate will be expected to cultivate an active research program that engages undergraduate students.

Teaching Load: The position entails a 3-2 teaching load, where one teaching credit corresponds to a 3-contact-hour per week lecture or lab section. The role includes a pre-tenure sabbatical, and we are looking for candidates who can teach a diverse range of courses, including introductory and core geosciences classes, as well as advanced courses related to environmental geosciences.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Geosciences is required by the time of appointment, and we encourage applications from candidates who are ABD. Previous experience in college-level teaching is preferred.
