We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our Department of Sociology as a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a specialization in gerontology or aging. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's research, teaching, and service missions.
Key Responsibilities- Teach online courses in gerontology or aging, as well as other relevant courses in the department's graduate program in Dementia and Aging Studies (M.S.D.A).
- Develop and maintain an active research agenda in dementia or cognitive aging, with a focus on obtaining external funding.
- Participate in the department's interdisciplinary online graduate program and contribute to the development of new courses and programs.
- Engage in service activities, including departmental and university-level committees, and contribute to the advancement of the department's mission.
- Ph.D. in sociology, gerontology, applied gerontology, aging studies, or dementia studies by August 2025.
- Background in sociological knowledge and perspectives.
- Experience in teaching online courses, particularly in gerontology or aging.
- Active research agenda in dementia or cognitive aging, with a focus on obtaining external funding.
- Experience in developing and teaching online courses, particularly in gerontology or aging.
