Legal Counsel - Hybrid Working

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The ACC is collaborating with various organizations to address significant global challenges. Guided by our core values and mission, we aim to empower those who drive progress in the world. Our Legal Team plays a crucial role in our organization's success, facilitating impact and advancement across multiple key areas.

As a member of the Legal Team, you will engage with various departments to support our growth strategy, offer legal guidance, foster legal innovation, and utilize modern working methods to establish an industry-leading team.

Responsibilities of the Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracting include:

  1. Acting as an integral part of the Legal Team, focusing primarily on commercial issues, risk assessment, and enhancing internal processes.
  2. Collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  3. Conducting risk evaluations and providing practical recommendations for decision-makers.
  4. Championing standards in contracting and risk management.
  5. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including master service agreements, licensing contracts, subcontractor agreements, and confidentiality agreements, primarily representing the organization as a service provider.
  6. Demonstrating proficiency in swiftly drafting legal documents.
  7. Implementing and promoting contracting policies and processes, assisting in obtaining approvals for deviations.
  8. Providing general legal counsel across a broad spectrum of issues faced by a leading multinational organization.
  9. Managing a wide range of business and legal matters, including intellectual property, transaction structuring, data protection, competition law, and conflict of interest issues.
  10. Collaborating across departments to resolve complex legal challenges.
  11. Serving as a liaison between various functions and the business to address legal concerns.
  12. Contributing to the development and maintenance of legal resources and templates.
  13. Performing additional duties as required.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

  1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Responding to ad hoc requests from the business with a pragmatic approach.
  3. Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities, balancing business and legal objectives.
  4. Providing counsel in a dynamic environment, managing multiple ongoing matters.
  5. Explaining legal concepts to business colleagues and effectively negotiating agreements.
  6. Quickly acquiring new skills and adapting to diverse international clients.
  7. Being a collaborative team player.
  8. Embracing technology and innovative working methods.
  9. Interpreting complex laws and regulations within the context of organizational policies.
  10. Maintaining a positive, client-focused approach to legal practice.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  1. Qualified lawyer in the United States.
  2. 5+ years of experience in commercial contracting with international exposure.
  3. 3+ years of experience with a reputable law firm preferred; relevant in-house experience is advantageous.
  4. Familiarity with data processing agreements is a plus.
  5. Fluency in English.
