Position Overview

A prominent construction firm is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee its accounting and financial operations. As a mid-sized organization, the company is poised for growth and expansion in the coming years.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Controller will manage the daily accounting activities, monthly financial reporting, and annual budgeting processes while ensuring the integrity of the company's financial data. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various accounting functions, including:
  • Order to cash cycle
  • Cost accounting entries
  • Reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Asset management and depreciation schedules

This role will also involve processing vendor invoices, managing payment requests, and preparing journal entries for all expenditures. Additionally, the Financial Controller will oversee payroll and insurance payments, ensuring compliance as the organization transitions from a founder-led structure to a more formal management framework.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be:
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent in communication skills

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience in the Construction or Real Estate sectors
  • Proficiency in Yardi software
  • Proven leadership experience managing a team of 4 or more
  • Knowledge of investment-level accounting
  • Expertise in treasury management and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior accounting professionals
