The Senior Project Leader is tasked with overseeing the identification of project specifications and strategic plans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance, while upholding the professional standards that reflect AEVEX Aerospace's values. This role involves managing project timelines, financial resources, and client interactions, implementing compliance with DOD/NDAA regulations, formulating program timelines, and fostering robust relationships both internally and externally to achieve operational objectives and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that projects and programs are executed with the utmost safety and compliance standards.
  • Oversee all facets of assigned Repair, Modification, Manufacturing, Engineering, Certification, or Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) Development programs, ensuring that execution aligns with financial, scheduling, technical performance, quality, supply chain, and customer engagement goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison to establish and clarify key stakeholder requirements and project goals. Direct all phases of projects or significant project components from inception to completion, coordinating commitments with stakeholders to meet program strategies and requirements.
  • Collaborate with the growth team to formulate new business strategies, product roadmaps, and capture plans, including the development of strategic and financial proposals.
  • Lead negotiations for contracts and amendments, coordinating the preparation of proposals, business plans, statements of work, estimates, budgets, schedules, specifications, and financial terms to ensure compliance and safeguard the organization's interests.
  • Identify and leverage program opportunities to enhance company revenue and client satisfaction.
  • Independently manage large-scale projects and programs, developing comprehensive plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Analyze data and monitor programs to ensure compliance with contract scope, costs, schedules, quality, airworthiness, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare and present plans and progress reports related to the business aspects of projects/programs to internal leadership and clients.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance organizational capabilities, efficiency, and quality.
  • Communicate expectations and devise innovative strategies to bolster organizational capabilities that align with operational priorities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities, developing solutions that require critical thinking, creativity, and innovation to ensure successful project completion.
  • Collaborate with various functional teams to ensure alignment with project/program objectives.
  • Serve as the hiring manager for assigned projects/programs, overseeing the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of candidates.
  • Ensure all personnel meet or exceed professional standards and embody the AEVEX culture.
  • Maintain reliable attendance in accordance with project requirements.
  • Exhibit professional behavior with both internal and external stakeholders that positively reflects the company and adheres to company policies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARs), and FAA Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in relationship building and negotiation.
  • Detail-oriented with robust planning, organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity consistently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).

Education / Certifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited university (MS or MBA preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.

Experience

15 or more years of experience in Program/Project Management.

Security Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
