Respiratory Care Specialist

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team in the NICU Night Shift. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.
Responsibilities- Evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate respiratory care services.
- Apply knowledge of cardio-respiratory anatomy and physiology to deliver optimal care.
- Utilize data and laboratory findings to optimize care delivery.
- Perform and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with departmental standards.
- Match equipment needs with associated diagnostic/therapeutic intervention.
- Provide timely reports and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program from an accredited American Medical Association (AMA) program.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care preferred.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the Texas Medical Board.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC).
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card.
- Assessment skills for prioritization of care.
- Application of patient-driven protocols.
- Delivery of respiratory care in neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.
- Proficiency in the use of respiratory care equipment.
- Ability to serve as a preceptor to new orientees, students, and interns.
