Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate respiratory care services.
  • Apply knowledge of cardio-respiratory anatomy and physiology to respiratory care practices.
  • Utilize data and laboratory findings to optimize care delivery.
  • Perform and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Match equipment needs with associated diagnostic/therapeutic intervention.
  • Demonstrate patient-centered behaviors and provide timely reports to receiving therapists.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program from an accredited American Medical Association (AMA) program.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care preferred.
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC).
  • Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Experience in neonatal, pediatric, and adult respiratory care.
