Communications Specialist, Senior

The role of a Communications Specialist, Senior at Booz Allen Hamilton is to design, develop, and produce communications products that support the defense community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement communications strategies for senior leaders and create a full suite of communications materials to execute their vision.
  • Author reports, briefs, position papers, and technical summaries, and present them to internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and clients to communicate technical concepts and facilitate strategic communication throughout the organization.
  • Work with senior leaders to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound using tools like Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience with technical writing, presentation design, and editing technical reports or policy language.
  • Experience with communications for the DoD or government agencies.
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of government consulting and client service, outlining desired outcomes, developing project management plans, and helping clients achieve their objectives.
  • Ability to work with senior leaders, respond to rapidly changing priorities, pay strict attention to detail, and adapt writing style to meet varying needs of stakeholders at varying levels.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in Strategic communications, public affairs, or graphic design.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with leading communications efforts for DoD Research and Development Programs, systems engineering, microelectronics, or engineering or emerging technology fields.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into professional communications products.
  • Ability to work as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including developing briefings and presenting them to internal and external audiences.
  • Master's degree.
Clearance:
