Bowhead is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support its customer in Crane, IN. The successful candidate will perform complex engineering support assignments, assembling and integrating military and commercial systems, and modifying military platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform undersea sensor task assignments, selecting or adapting standard procedures or equipment, and receiving initial instructions and advice from supervisors or engineers as needed.
  • Construct, disassemble, and package undersea sensor components and subunits of equipment, following specific layouts, procedures, and scientific diagrams.
  • Conduct electrical or mechanical tests and experiments, requiring minor modifications in test setups or procedures, and selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment.
  • Extract and compile engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports, identifying errors or inconsistencies, and selecting methods of data presentation.
  • Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus at least five years of experience.
  • Previous experience supporting NSWC Crane is preferred.
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level, with candidates having an Active Secret clearance preferred. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
