About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Strategist to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to support our clients' goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to engage key stakeholders and promote our clients' desired reputation.
  • Design, develop, and produce a variety of internal and external communication materials, including reports, briefs, position papers, and technical summaries.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to create a full suite of communications materials to execute their vision and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Creative Cloud applications, to create engaging and effective communications products.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop project management plans and help clients achieve their objectives.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on communications matters, including developing briefings and presenting them to internal and external audiences.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, presentation design, and editing technical reports or policy language.
  • Experience with developing communications strategies for senior leaders and creating a full suite of communications materials to execute their vision.
  • Experience with communications for the DoD or Government agencies.
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of government consulting, client service, outlining desired outcomes, developing project management plans, and helping clients achieve their objectives.
  • Ability to work with senior leaders, respond to rapidly changing priorities, pay strict attention to detail, and adapt writing style to meet varying needs of stakeholders at varying levels.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or graphic design in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with leading communications efforts for DoD Research and Development Programs, systems engineering, microelectronics, or engineering or emerging technology fields.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into professional communications products.
  • Ability to work as a self-starter and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including developing briefings and presenting them to internal and external audiences.
  • Master's degree.
