The Food Service Clerk/Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff at Uhmchealth. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a cash register and process transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries and concerns
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the cafeteria and surrounding areas
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery
  • Process and manage cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including sales data and inventory levels

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of experience in a food service or customer service role preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
