Job Summary:

The Barber National Institute is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of children and adults participating in aquatic and therapeutic activities in our state-of-the-art pool.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in therapeutic activities with individuals with disabilities, maintaining safety in the pool and surrounding area.
  • Take life-saving measures when necessary and participate in the maintenance of the pool and equipment.
  • Perform chemical readings, maintain a neat and clean pool and deck area, including mopping, scrubbing out the ring, scooping out debris, vacuuming the pool, and putting equipment away.
  • Raise and lower the floor of the pool and assist students in entering and exiting the pool.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid and current Lifeguard Certificate, First Aid, and CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance.
  • FBI clearance is required for individuals who do not meet PA residency requirements.
