Position Overview

As a Lead Internal Audit Specialist, you will play a crucial role within a collaborative team, engaging in the following key activities:

  • Gain insights into and document essential business processes and internal controls, assessing their design and effectiveness.
  • Examine internal policies, procedures, and relevant laws to evaluate compliance and the sufficiency of internal controls.
  • Craft and implement tests for internal controls.
  • Analyze and formulate value-added recommendations.
  • Create impactful reports and presentations.
  • Coordinate and execute internal audits and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) related activities, including risk mapping, walkthroughs, key control identification, test plan development, and segregation of duty analysis.
  • Conduct data extraction, analysis, and security assessments using various software tools.
  • Evaluate information technology control components to mitigate risks related to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business information.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as needed in response to evolving business conditions.
Qualifications

This role necessitates the following skills and attributes:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time experience in risk-based integrated audits, SOX projects, information technology, internal auditing, SEC reporting, and risk and fraud assessments.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of management and staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal accounting and management controls, audit processes, and professional standards such as US GAAP, SOX, and COSO.
  • Extensive understanding of internal auditing and accounting principles, management principles, and preferred business practices.
  • Familiarity with management information systems terminology, concepts, controls, and practices.
  • Proficiency in using automated spreadsheets, word processing software, and other business and audit-related software, including Audit Command Language (ACL), Interactive Data Extraction and Analysis (IDEA), Microsoft Office, or TeamMate Suite.
  • A collaborative team player who is professional, resourceful, adaptable, organized, capable of multitasking, and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

The following skills and attributes are preferred:
  • Experience in the medical device sector conducting risk-based integrated audits and SOX projects.
  • Knowledge of SAP, TeamMate, ACL, and IDEA.
  • Experience in Public Accounting.
  • Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
Benefits

The base compensation range for this position is $100,000 per year. Actual compensation packages will vary based on individual factors, including skill set, experience, certifications, and specific work location. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries based on the date of this job posting.
